Insulating oil regeneration and its influence on the transformers

Insulating oils are the coolants of the transformer winding. During the operation, they are subjected to numerous and diverse extortion; they accumulate destruction of a variety of products of structural elements of the transformer in themselves and, as a result they change their own properties. The systematic analysis of composition and characteristics of the insulating oil provides information about the condition of the whole transformer. The article presents the results of an investigation of insulating oil condition during operation of a transformer, and it proposes actions to monitor the insulation oil and prolong its service life. Regular tests allow the regeneration of oil (e.g. by vacuum treatment, drying) at the right time, which eliminates the need for costly oil exchange in many cases. Monitoring of the insulating oil also has a large impact on the technical safety, which is related to risk mitigation of major accidents, such as electric shocking or even transformer explosions. The obtained results confirm the validity of the insulating oil regeneration process as a method for decreasing operating costs, which is simultaneously efficient and environmentally friendly.

 

This invention discloses an adsorption device capable of regenerating an adsorbent on site and used for transformer oil regeneration. The adsorption device comprises a plate frame oil filter, a vacuum oil filter and a tank body provided with an oil inlet and an oil outlet. The adsorption device is characterized in that the tank body is internally provided with an upper filter screen and a lower filter screen; a middle filter screen I and a middle filter screen II are sequentially arranged between the upper filter screen and the lower filter screen; a decolorizing adsorbent layer is arranged between the upper filter screen and the middle filter screen I; a dielectric loss reduction adsorbent layer is arranged between the middle filter screen I and the middle filter screen II; a desulfurization adsorbent layer is arranged between the middle filter screen II and the lower filter screen; the tank body above the upper filter screen is provided with a detergent inlet; the bottom of the tank body is provided with a hot air inlet, and the top of the tank body is provided with a hot air outlet; the oil inlet is formed in the bottom of the tank body, and the oil outlet is formed above the upper filter screen. According to the adsorption device, degraded transformer oil can be comprehensively regenerated in the adsorption device, and a cleaning and heating device can be utilized for activating the adsorbent reaching adsorption saturation again, so that the adsorbent is recycled on site.
